You need to buy a brand spanking new car for a list price of $25,000 USD. This will be your only vehicle so whatcha gonna do? This is some real car buying right now so look around and as always, enjoy yo’selves!

The cheapest one you can get is a base “S” manual for $25,850. Which would still be plenty of car for me.

Using my swell employee discount at work, an extended cab RWD Canyon in Cardinal red with the 2.5L and 6-speed manual. Throw in a drop-in bed liner, convenience package, and the 7" Intellilink screen. I think it comes out to about $26k, which my discount gets me in at well under that.

€ 23K brings up a variation of Skoda Octavia RSs brand spanking new from some dealers who exploit variable pricing and taxation within th EU.
But we are Oppo so we don’t buy new, we use depreciation as our friend. So I’d this instead for even less.

Interesting question. For whom am I buying, myself or someone in particular?
For myself: Focus ST. I was going to pick a WRX but they start at too much. I need something with space, so no Miata or BRZ.

Can I include federal tax credits for the purchase of that car?

Number one, I wouldn’t buy new. Did that with my Mini, which cost about $25K.
Number two, I’d look for either a diesel 5 Series or a diesel E Class/300(S)D.

2016 Civic. I test drove one for shits and gigs and really liked it. TBH I actually liked the CVT although if it was going to be my only car I’d have to get the manual.
Also no turbo. I like my Honda engines NA only making noticeable power above 5k, and not being on speaking terms with low end torque.
Plus wireless phone charger!

2017 Mazda3 S Grand Touring

manual, hatchback, red. Hoping to pull the trigger on a used one next year.
Practical, fun to drive, great looking especially in soul red. I’m in love with these right now.

2016 Jeep Wrangler sport. $23,995. Drive it and enjoy for years and still have great resale value when it’s time for something else.

Probably $21k out the door. That leaves you $4k for beer, BBQ, and broads. Yes Honda, the intelligent purchase.

Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition. I haven’t driven one but from What i’ve seen I like it, if not this,a Fiesta ST. Some one on Oppositelock has one, or had one. When I saw that interior I knew I was in love.
The exterior color is pretty great too.

I did too.

Yep, I’d probably do it again. Budget bumped to $45k? No. I’d still buy a Ford hatch though.

Mine.
2016 Mazda6 i Touring
It stickers for $27,155, but that’s because it has the Bose/Sunroof package. Without that, it stickers at $24,995.

Today I learned that no manufacturer makes anything I want for under $25k. I’d have to just bite the bullet and buy a RAV4, since I need SUV-esque room.

Would have to be a Pontiac G8 GT (Would love to get a GXP with the ls3, but ls2 will suffice) And have $5000 leftover for exhaust, cam, tune. 4 doors, plenty of room, corvette motor, and a stick. Either that or just a c6 corvette.

Oh, new cars. In that case, I would have $25k in the bank instead. My answer wins because RWD

I have to say that the new 2017 Elantra is very comfortable and the driving position is actually workable for people like me who like to lay down with the wheel in their lap while they drive. So I will take one in top, fully loaded, Limited trim with all the toys and gizmos...embarrassingly it has more than my Benz does.

I don’t want to be labeled a ‘hater’ but the Veloster is just an Accent in prettier clothes and with waaay less visibility. But to each its own.

Once you do the currency conversion, a 2017 BRZ is noticeably under $25K USD where I live, so I think I’ll choose that. I don’t really need to carry more than one other person around, I don’t travel with a lot of luggage, and I love oversteer. It should be perfect.

I’d buy a 2016 Mini Cooper Hardtop paired with the 1.5 turbo 3 cylinder and the 6 speed automatic.
Here’s one in black
